Though the grapefruit diet is very effective there are only a few people who are using it this is because the grapefruit itself is bitter and having to it half of it is like swallowing a bitter pill and the bitter aftertaste tends to stick to the tongue. Fortunately though there is a better alternative to eating grapefruit and that is the grapefruit juice.
The grapefruit juice is more tolerable that the grapefruit itself. This because you get to swallow it as fast as you can which is the exact opposite of eating the grapefruit wherein it stays longer in your mouth because you still have to chew it and you get to taste the bitterness longer. Due to the discovery of the grapefruit juice the grapefruit diet is now becoming popular and more and more people are trying it. However, there is a catch for the grapefruit juice to as effective as eating the actual grapefruit it has to be freshly squeezed and unsweetened. So if you are thinking about buying those commercialized grapefruit juice being sold in the market that is often sweetened, you might want to think twice.
Using grapefruit juice instead of the actual fruit is still effective granting that you follow the guidelines to the letter. Other than the grapefruit juice being fresh and unsweetened it is also recommended that grapefruit juice should be drank before each meal and by each meal it means before breakfast, lunch and dinner. The grapefruit juice diet will give one a certain amount of liberty to eat their hearts out. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean a binge. It would also maximize the efficacy if you still watch what eat despite eating what you want. It is also advised that while on a grapefruit juice diet you still take vitamin supplements in order to keep you healthy.
The grapefruit juice is indeed more tolerable than having to eat have a grapefruit everytime you are about to partake a meal. The reason is because the juice simply flows down your throat and you don’t have to worry about tasting the bitterness longer than you intend to so you suffer less.
